Asthma Symptoms
Asthma can be in various levels from the routine coughing and wheezing to the life threatening ones. As the airways are inflamed and dense mucus is formed on the lining of the airways the free passage of air to the lungs is blocked causing great discomfort to the affected. It is vital to recognize these signs and symptoms before they become fatal. A very simple cough if occurring in frequent intervals while playing or at night or when laughing could be a matter of concern which needs to be tended to immediately. Another symptom is less of energy. If your child while playing tires easily and has no stamina to carry on, its time for you to listen to the warning bells. As the airways are blocked breathing is naturally affected. If you detect any signs of breathing faster than the normal pace pay heed to it.
Inflammation of airways represses the body from its normal functioning and the chest muscles have to strain to allow the flow of air. This could give you a feeling of tightening around the chest and may result in acute chest pain also. Due to the breathing problems there could be a retraction condition in your chest or a motion similar to see-saw. There could even be feelings of panic or high anxiety which are not normal. Please do not ignore this and consult a doctor immediately. When you breathe, if a wheezing or a whistling sound is produced this could be one of the symptoms.
Another symptom for an asthma attack could be shortness of breath or loss of breath. Some people are not even aware when they have this symptom which could prove to be extremely dangerous especially in aged people and females. Sometimes during these attacks there is tremendous strain in the neck.
The muscles of the neck tighten and it is painful to even talk. These attacks can cause people to sweat profusely giving a pallid look to the face. It is utterly necessary to pay attention to these symptoms before they take a toll on your health causing you irreparable damage.
